For the 13th time in program history and the 10th consecutive year, the Texas volleyball team was voted as the favorite to win the Big 12 title for the upcoming 2020 season. The preseason poll is determined by league head coaches who are not allowed to rank their own team.

Texas received six of the nine first-place votes to finish with 62 points. Baylor garnered the other three first-place nods and was second with 59 points. Iowa State (47 points) and Oklahoma (46 points) rounded out the top four.

In 2019, the Longhorns boasted a 23-4 overall record, including a 15-1 mark in Conference play to share the Big 12 title with Baylor, and the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Championship. Texas’ .325 hitting percentage ranked as the nation’s best as the Longhorns led the Big 12 in the category for the 13th-consecutive season.

Baylor finished with a school-record 29 wins (29-2) in 2019 and earned the No. 1 national seed in the NCAA Championship. The Bears won their first Big 12 championship and made their first NCAA Championship semifinals appearance.
