Seniors shine for MSU in final home game

The two senior Midwestern State women’s basketball team members were honored following their final game at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Saturday.

The ceremony was fitting following a game that featured Hannah Reynolds and Morgan Lenahan leading the Mustangs to a 71-56 victory over Oklahoma Christian.

MSU will travel to play UT Tyler at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference tournament.

“It was great to get back on track and build off the momentum we had from the Arkansas-Fort Smith game on Thursday,” MSU coach Christopher Reay said. “It’s a much better feeling heading into the tournament with a win, and I feel good about our squad.”

Reynolds will finish her career as the program leader in blocks and totaled a season-high 24 points while leading the Mustangs with nine rebounds. Lenahan opened the game with a 3-pointer that put her over 1,000 points during her collegiate career. She finished the night with 14 points and six assists.

“Their maturity showed tonight,” Reay said. “They were ready for the moment and ready to bring us a win.”
