Four non-conference games have been added to Oklahoma Christian’s spring schedule for men’s soccer, OC coach David Scott said Tuesday.
Changes also have been made to the Lone Star Conference portion of the schedule after Eastern New Mexico opted not to play during the spring season. The original fall 2020 season was moved to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
OC’s new spring opener will be Feb. 8, when the Eagles are scheduled to travel across town to face NAIA foe Oklahoma City University. It will be the first time the former Sooner Athletic Conference rivals have played since the 2011 season.
Other non-conference games will be Feb. 13 at home against Southern Nazarene of the Great American Conference, March 18 at Newman (Kan.) of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and March 27 at home against Dallas Baptist (Texas), which (like OC) is a member of the LSC.
The new seven-game LSC schedule will include home games against Midwestern State (Texas) on Feb. 16, Texas-Tyler on March 2 and Texas-Permian Basin on March 23. OC will visit Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Feb. 23, Texas A&M International on March 9, Dallas Baptist on March 16 and West Texas A&M on March 30.
The LSC tournament will begin March 10 at campus sites.
