The Angelo State men’s basketball team announced the signing of Tarence Guinyard to the 2021-22 recruiting class.

Guinyard, a 6-2 guard from Jacksonville, Fla., comes to Angelo State after successful high school stints at Lennard High and Lee High, finishing with 2,191 career points while breaking the assist record at Lennard in the process. A three-time First-Team All-Conference selection, Guinyard was named the District Player of the year his junior season.

“We welcome Tarence to the Ram Fam with open arms,” said Head Coach Cinco Boone. “He is a very talented young man who will be very entertaining for fans to watch. He is an athletic guard who can play above the rim with exciting dunks and can really shoot the basketball. As he continues to get older and gain more weight, his game will continue to rise to new heights. Coach Holland did a great job of identifying Tarence’s talent and character, and we are so glad he became a Ram!”

In his senior season at Lee, Guinyard earned First-Team All-Conference and was an All-Star participant after averaging 16.1 points per game along with three steals and three rebounds.
