LSC WBB: Cameron defense leads to upset victory

Cameron 72, West Texas A&M 66 OT

LAWTON – The Cameron University women’s basketball team racked up a program-record 22 steals in a 72-66 overtime upset of No. 5/No. 8 West Texas A&M on Friday night.

Altogether, the Aggies forced 34 WT turnovers, scoring 32-of-their-72 points off those Buff turnovers.

Hedge finished with a game-high 17-points, to go along with her team-high four assists. Stephanie Peterson turned in 14-points, with three assists, but was huge defensively collected six steals. Katie King swiped five steals, while Jazmin Luster added four. Hedge and Collyer each had two takeaways in this game with a smattering of Aggies earning a single steal.

Lubbock Christian 74, UT Permian Basin 43

Ashton Duncan racked up 25 points, with 18 points in the first half, and finished with six three pointers to help lead No.1 Lubbock Christian University to a 74-43 road victory over UT Permian Basin in Lone Star Conference West Division play inside UTPB Gym.
