Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi softball head coach Kristen Zaleski announced her resignation on Wednesday to pursue other opportunities. A national search for the program’s next head coach will begin immediately.

Zaleski posted a 24-46 record over two seasons after taking over an Islanders softball program that posted an 8-43 record in 2019. This included a shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19. The Islanders’ 18 wins in 2021 represented the program’s highest win total since 2016.

Sophomore outfielder Pal Egan earned Southland All-Conference honors under Zaleski in 2021. The Islanders placed 19 softball student-athletes on the 2020-21 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Assistant coach Paige Williams has been named interim head coach.
