The Grand Canyon softball team added outfielder Adrienne Visintine, who is transferring from Coastal Carolina for the 2021 season, Lopes head coach Ann Pierson announced Wednesday.
“Adrienne brings depth to an already talented outfield,” Pierson said. “She is a physical kid at 5-11 and her bat adds tremendous power from the left side. She also adds maturity to a young team, coming in as a junior.”
Visintine comes to the Lopes after two seasons as mainly a designate player with the Chanticleers.
In her freshman campaign, she totaled 10 starts and played in 27 games. She belted five home runs and helped Coastal Carolina advance to the Sun Belt Tournament championship game with a two-run double in a 4-2 extra-inning victory.
In this year’s shortened season, Visintine saw action in six games and collected three RBI. Over two seasons with the Chanticleers, she posted a .500 slugging percentage and a .286 on-base percentage.
Visintine also excels in the classroom, as she was named to the President’s List in the fall of 2018, Dean’s List for the fall of 2019 and Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List for 2018-19.
The Parker, Colorado, native spent her prep career at Chaparral High School, where she was named all-conference first team twice as an outfielder for the Wolverines. She hit .472 for her prep career with 101 hits, 71 RBI, 22 doubles, 18 home runs and seven triples. In her senior season, she earned second-team all-state honors.
