Explaining the changes to LoneStarSportsDaily

By: Cory Hogue, LoneStarSportsDaily.com

Nobody likes change yet change is inevitable.

I think this change is a major positive on many levels.

Beginning today, this site will no longer feature any professional sports. Gone is the Major League Baseball and National Football League coverage.

However, this is not subtraction without addition as replacing the two professional leagues is all three NCAA Divisions of men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.

The pro sports leagues never felt like they belonged with the theme of this site. My purpose for this site is to feature the small colleges along with the college sports that do not receive the attention of the highest levels of football and basketball receives while compiling all the information in one location.

I can think of no better way to expand the site and clarify the theme than adding two sports that have a loyal following yet do not receive the attention they deserve.

This website has far exceeded my expectations and for that, I thank each and every one of you who visit this site. I also owe a huge thank you to the Sports Information Directors of each university as this site would not be possible without them.

My goal is for this site to become the place you go to for coverage of football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball for all Texas Division I teams along with the Southland, SWAC, WAC conferences in DI, LSC in Division II and the ASC, SCAC and SAA football in Division III.

If you visit the new pages, you will notice that each page has a few stories. These stories cover the last couple of weeks of news and soon these pages will be as populated as the others.

Thank you again for your support of this website and I hope you enjoy the changes!
