College Football America Yearbook released its Preseason FCS Top-30, and the Alcorn State University football program was touted at No. 27.
The Braves were the only team from the SWAC to be mentioned in the poll.
Alcorn is coming off its second consecutive SWAC Championship and fourth in the last six years. The Braves are also the six-time defending SWAC East Division winners.
Alcorn brings back the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year (Felix Harper), the SWAC Championship Offensive MVP (LeCharles Pringle), the SWAC Championship Defensive MVP (Juwan Taylor) and two HBCU All-Americans (Harper and Qwynnterrio Cole).
Additionally, the back-to-back SWAC Coach of the Year winner Fred McNair returns both his offensive and defensive coordinators (Elliott Wratten and Cedric Thornton).
Alcorn is on a 10-game home winning-streak, the fifth-longest active streak in FCS.
