Alabama State baseball was well-represented when Perfect Game announced its top incoming freshmen in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Wednesday afternoon.
Four Hornets that arrived on campus this fall were listed by the organization, highlighted by the top incoming freshman in the conference, outfielder Abner Benitez, a native of Miami.
Dale Francis, a first baseman/pitcher from Ft. Pierce, Fla., followed in third, while Puerto Rican pitcher Agnel Miranda was tabbed fifth. Rounding out the list was outfielder and Trussville, Ala. native Kerrigan Edmonds at 12th.
Alabama State will look to carry momentum into the spring season following one of the best starts in program history in 2020 prior to the COVID-19 shutdown – reeling off 14 wins in its first 18 games of the shortened season.
